Isaac Jobin has a wealth of experience in the musical field, gained through an impressive academic background. The young violinist began his bachelor’s degree in violin performance at the age of 17, and 10 years later completed his doctoral studies in violin performance at the University of Montreal. After performing in Germany, Italy, France, Austria, the United States and Canada, he left Quebec for Switzerland, where he completed a 6-month internship at the prestigious academy of Habib Kayaleh, an internationally renowned master violinist. Since 2013, it has also benefited from the generous loan of a magnificent violin by luthiers J.B. Stensland & Girard by the Prix d’Europe.
He also has a solid background in jazz saxophone, enabling him to offer Groupe Izanto clients great versatility in terms of musical style. Thanks to his mentor, Yvan Belleau, an internationally renowned jazz clarinettist and saxophonist, he performed twice on the main stage of the Montreal Jazz Festival. With his Groovy Brass band, he opens for Bernard Primeau’s Montreal Jazz Ensemble, winner of two Félix awards for jazz album of the year. Performing for over 10 years on the Quebec scene and at various private and corporate events, Isaac regularly rubs shoulders and shares the stage with many excellent musicians. This gave him access to a large network of contacts, which he has used over the years to build the best team of musicians for Groupe Izanto.
